A reactive air overlay for neonatal care
Repose Babytherm is a pressure-redistributing overlay intended for neonatal units. It is designed for use with suitable incubators, cots and warmers, with fit and use assessed by the neonatal care team.
Choosing and fitting your support
Confirm the support surface dimensions and suitability with the care team and the incubator, cot or warmer instructions. Keep the valve away from the infant and ensure correct support and unobstructed access for care. Inflate with the infant off the overlay.

Repose technology in daily use
Manual inflation with Smart Valve
The correct Repose pump sets the intended inflation pressure. Inflate with the user off the product. Use the pump specified for the supplied configuration.
Daily checks and cleaning
Check inflation with the manufacturer’s daily squeeze check and inspect positioning and skin regularly. Reconnect the correct pump and top up within a maximum of 14 days; the daily check still applies between top-ups. Always inflate and top up with the person off the product.
Clean visible contamination with detergent, water and a non-abrasive cloth. In the absence of visible contamination, follow the manufacturer’s weekly cleaning guidance and local infection-control policy. Dry thoroughly. Do not machine wash, immerse or sterilise the inflatable support, and keep liquid out of the valve. Removable PU covers have separate washing instructions.
Clinical use and precautions
The IFU excludes unstable spinal fractures, posture-management needs and body shapes that cannot be fully supported. Assess bed or trolley side rails with the complete support arrangement.
The care team should confirm patient suitability and loading for the exact product and equipment before use.
Keep the valve away from skin and avoid direct contact with open wounds or compromised skin. Seek clinical advice immediately if skin condition changes. Keep away from heat and sharp objects. The valve contains a metal spring: do not use near MRI equipment. Read the complete IFU before use.
Use as part of an assessed pressure-care plan, alongside appropriate skin checks, repositioning and other care. The support does not replace those measures.
Clinical information
Frontier lists the following Repose-range references on its neonatal product page. They mainly concern adult support surfaces and are background evidence, not clinical trials of this neonatal product. Selection and use remain the responsibility of the neonatal care team.
Clinical assessment, skin inspection, repositioning and the wider care plan remain essential. Use the current product instructions for indications, precautions and maintenance; older study protocols are not instructions for present-day use.
