Reactive air within a foam mattress
Ultracore Plus combines a Repose air inner with a foam mattress and designated cover. The static air-and-foam construction provides a full mattress system, inflated using the supplied manual pump and used without an electrical power unit.
Choosing and fitting your support
Use the complete system with its designated cover on an appropriately sized single bed frame. It is not suitable for a double-bed frame. Follow the dedicated Ultracore Plus IFU for the inner, cover and foam, and assess the complete bed and side-rail arrangement.

Repose technology in daily use
Manual inflation with Smart Valve
The correct Repose pump sets the intended inflation pressure. Inflate with the user off the product. Use the pump specified for the supplied configuration.
User-weight guidance
222 kg maximum user weight.
Daily checks and cleaning
Inspect the complete mattress, cover and air inner regularly, including a daily inflation check of the Repose inner. Reconnect the correct pump and top up within a maximum of 14 days, with the user off the mattress, following the dedicated Ultracore Plus IFU. The daily check still applies between top-ups.
The removable PU cover, air inner and foam require different care. Remove the inner before washing the cover. The air inner must not be machine washed. The foam cannot be decontaminated: replace it if damaged, stained or soiled. Use the dedicated IFU for cleaning and reassembly.
Clinical use and precautions
The IFU excludes unstable spinal fractures, posture-management needs and body shapes that cannot be fully supported. Assess bed or trolley side rails with the complete support arrangement.
Keep the valve away from skin and avoid direct contact with open wounds or compromised skin. Seek clinical advice immediately if skin condition changes. Keep away from heat and sharp objects. The valve contains a metal spring: do not use near MRI equipment. Read the complete IFU before use.
Use as part of an assessed pressure-care plan, alongside appropriate skin checks, repositioning and other care. The support does not replace those measures.
Compatible accessories
Separate accessories for this exact configuration. Check whether a cover is already included before adding another.
Clinical information
The first references concern static air-and-foam hybrid mattress implementation or Ultracore Plus ward evaluations. They are followed by the wider Repose references linked by Frontier. These include small service evaluations, not just controlled trials; historical study protocols do not replace the current Ultracore Plus Instructions for Use.
Clinical assessment, skin inspection, repositioning and the wider care plan remain essential. Use the current product instructions for indications, precautions and maintenance; older study protocols are not instructions for present-day use.
